Every woman remembers trying on her wedding dress for the first time. It’s been 61 years since Sally Twisselmann had the shining “this is the one” moment, and she remembers it like it was yesterday.

It was 1958 when Sally and her mother went wedding dress shopping in San Francisco. She ultimately picked a stylish tea-length gown with a lace top and big skirt. That dress, along with about a dozen others, will be on display at the first Valentine’s Day wedding gown exhibit at Stoneridge Creek senior living community in Pleasanton.

Residents donated their gowns for the exhibit to showcase the styles of gowns throughout the years. The dresses date back to the 1907, and each has a love story to go along with it.
